Villa Joia do Sul is a brand-new luxury villa currently under construction in the very centre of Carvoeiro, Algarve.
Located just 150 metres from the beach, this project transforms the iconic former Jailhouse bar into a refined private retreat for up to eight guests.
Opening in (summer) 2027, Villa Joia do Sul will offer four ensuite bedrooms, a private plunge pool, a rooftop terrace and private parking, all within walking distance of Carvoeiro’s beaches, restaurants and cafés.

An iconic place, a new chapter
For decades, this location was known as The Jailhouse ( before Sobe e Desce ), a well-known bar and meeting place in Carvoeiro that attracted locals, travellers and musicians from around the world.
Today, the building enters a new phase. With respect for its past and a clear vision for the future, Villa Joia do Sul is being carefully redesigned into a private villa that reflects the character of Carvoeiro while offering modern comfort and privacy.
